In the current times of increasing awareness and action on climate change in industrialised nations, it should not go unnoticed that there is an even more urgent need to address the problems already caused by this phenomenon. Mitigation by reducing carbon emissions has been the byword for action from environmentalists, converted politicians, scientists and green businesses in the West. But, for a lot of people in our societies, climate change is a nebulous idea and a distant threat that requires a degree of faith or a degree in meteorology to fully absorb its veracity and significance.
